Id like to race a chipped 1.8t just to see how fast they really are. I think a chip for a 1.8t is a night and day differance because the 1.8t are freakin slow to begin with.
You would most likely lose... I have raced a 2.8 before.. KILLED him off the line and was consistantly 1 or 2 cars ahead of him.. And i was in an automatic and his was 5spd. This was in Dublin Ohio about a month ago.. He was a yellow 30v.. If you are in here, yellow 30v, speak up!!!

This was up to about 80mph.
The only way to kill somebody off the line in an tiptronic audi is if the other guy couldn't drive for ****.

wow I hear this alot. You guys do know about brake boosting dont you? I can leave the line with almost full boost and at 3k rpms +/-. Now I know a manual can leav at a higher rpm but they run the risk of spinning, plus they dont have boost at the launch until load os put on the engine. Like I said Ill race a manual a4 with the same mods and Ill show you the difference isnt that much. When companies measure 0-60 its from a mash, but at the track its totally different.

I did not know about brake boosting. In my case with the Quattro I don't think Id be spinning the tires. I was also refering to onepoint8tee with no tip chip vs a 5 spd 2.8l.

You have never been in a chipped 1.8t have you? My car takes off like a **** off the line.. Have you ever seen my 0-90 video? That **** gets up to 30 mph off the line in the blink of an eye. I have never come accross someone who i cant take off the line (i chose imy races carefuly).. Stop talking like that, you are embarassing yourself.
GIAC is no joke down low, such as off the line.. Id love to have a 5spd, but i have beat 2 2.8 30v's manual's from a stop, and one was an experienced mechanic WHO TUNES AUDI'S!
Tiptronic isnt THAT slow of a shifting tranny when you are mashing the gas pedal, but a lot slower when driving conservatively.. Remember it has over 200 shifting programs to select depending on how you use the gas pedal-if that makes sense. But Tip without the tip chip is slower shifting than a 5spd for sure..
Now Im super motivated to make a new video.. We should have a virtual race! You take a video of your 2.8 from a stop to 80 mph and ill do the same, we will post and see what the times are (as long as they are similar conditions) like no cheating going down hill.

i hope the difference of quattro/non quattro is taken into account when spouting.my 2.8 leaps when changing gears(tip)and front-trac and i dont have to choose carefully so i can win, they wanna race its on,if no chance of getting pulled over

Id like to see that video. Also a stock tip may be ever so slightly slower (marginal at best) but the **** is MUCH more consistant. The only reason why a/t is worse off stock is that it has slight drivtrain loss due to a hydraulic link to the engine (no physical link between engine power and the wheels).

Now I know fwd is fast then awd on the top end or roll racing, but typically awd is faster for 0-60, 0-30, 60' times by alot. But granted these cars have no power so I think stock for stock fwd is faster 0-60; but 0-30 and 60' I think awd is the king there. I keep saying it I will race anyone in a similar modded car that has manual to show there really isnt any difference. I live in maryland, if the difference is huge in your favor Ill shut up, otherwise QUIT PICKING ON TIP CARS!!

I met a kid up here at school, he has the exact same car but a tip, and a very close set up too, he's running apr and a neuspeed exhaust, while I have giac, n75h, full borla cat back, and We have raced a few times and the tip is deff not slow, I think my car is quicker than his cuz of mods not cus mines a 5spd..... over all if we were exact same mods it would be a very close race for sure
