Will a APR chipped ECU from a manual tranny 1.8T B6 A4 work in my car? or is there a big difference in the ECU between transmissions.

depends on what year and what ecu he has. and you would need to get a tip chip my friend.

I thought that the TIP chip is only available on a b5.

thats not a TIP chip the TIP chip is for the tranny the ECU is for the motor and really doesnt control the tranny it just needs to know what tranny is in the car and i think you can tell it to change but id ask apr
