Hi everyone,
i have an 02 Audi a4 1.8t. Im getting this clanking noise from my front end everytime i go over a bump.....but when i press on my brakes and go over a bump the noise goes away. is it my brake pads?????

sounds like a control arm.. jack the car up and see if there is any play in the tire, meaning pull on the bottom of the tire and push on the top, if there is play thats no good, check all the bushings and check for cracks in all the control arms.. if everything looks good make sure everything is tight

 

Could be a lose brake pad carrier, shot tie rods, or possibly control arms, but B6's dont normally have the notorious control arm failures like the B5's do.
