Hey. Im new to this Forum and Audi cars, I have a problem with my 99.5 A4 quattro and I would like some help or any opinions they have. My Audi's shifter is extremely loose(like Jell-o)and it doesnt go into any gears so basically it doesnt run.I went todifferent shops around my area andthey all tell me different thingsthat might be wrongwith the car.Shift link is broken,Clutch is gone or Gearbox is gone..or sometimes all three of those. So I basically dont want to start buying parts if I dont knowexactly what the problem is with the car. So if anyone can helpi would appreciate it. Thanks.

 

I would check the shiftlinkage first

 

Ok so I guess I have to take it to a shop for them to check again.or Can Icheck myself ?

 

you could remove the leather boot round the gear shift and look inside to see if its connected

 

ok. so lets say I need to replace it. Where and which is the best and affordable place I can get one online. Because I been looking basically everywhere that I can think of or find and I have foundnothing yet.

 

its not a question of replacing anything just check things but if your not savvy with cars then get someone to check it for you

 

I totally agree on what ur saying about let someone check it for me. But lets say worse come to worse and its broken or I just need to replace it in general...would you happen to know anywhere that I can get a good one at?.. Because I need to get my car running ASAP, right now its just sitting in the street and plus the winter is coming.
