Hey guys im looking to lower my car 2.8 quattro b5.
In another thread somone said that you can't just throw a set of springs on the car and "call it a day" You need to replace the shocks. Is this just with Audi's becuase every other car i have put springs on the shocks have held up perfectly.
And also i was asking about exhaust's for my 2.8 and he said go custom. Can somone please explain.
I am new to audi's there for some help would be greatly apprecated

as for the exhaust, go custom. they are usually cheaper andmost exhaust companies just dont offer full catbacksystems for the 2.8.

he's asking for an explanation as to what exactly "go custom" means, guys.
when people say "go custom" it means just buy a muffler (and resonator, if you wish) and take it to a good exhaust shop. tell them what you want, which is probably 2.5" mandrel bent piping, and they will build you a custom exhaust. it's much cheaper than buying a purpose-built exhuast, and usually sounds just as good if not better.

I figured when people said custom they ment like a custom exhaust as too welding and matching others

yes, you could very well have that same custom exhaust with anyother muffler on it
as far as springs, i have heard the same.. they are reccomended to upgraded when lowering, but i havent heard any horror stories of shocks blowing out two months down the road
