I have a 00a4,1.8t,GIACchip,Baileysdv: my car started to shake whenever i would boot on it, i vagcomed it and it said that my O2 sensonr was out, and that i had multiple misfires, and misfires in cylinder 4, my O2 sensonr went out like a month before the car started to shake, i changed my sparkplugs and it still misfired, i ave changed my coil packs around and the coilpack from cyl.1and 4, were misfiring,
could the coilpacks be the problem for the shaking of the car (when the car shakes it stops accelerating, it maintais the same speed)?
i have called the dealership and they told me that i couldnt use coilpacks from another a4, is that true?

what did they mean from another car? did the misfire follow the coilpacks? if so buy new coil packs.. is your engine code ATW? if the misfire followed the coilpacks then buy new coil packs

 

could i get coilpacks from another random a4, and put them in mine? b/c the dealer asked me for my VIN, couse i guess they are made for each car separately is what he told me,is that true?

 

yea, there are a few different engine codes and with each engine code there are different coil packs, your an odd ball year 2000 its a one year engine code, you could only swap out coil packs of the same year and same engine code.. the coil packs are not all that bad, i think like 38-48$ a coil pack..
