Common things to go
Did a search and i was basically trying to find if anyone has ever assembled a list of the most common things to go, parts that fail on b5's typically (ie. control arms, ICM, etc.) The reason is I would like to devote special attention to these parts so I can stay on top of it and not be stranded somewhere or embarassed that when i pull in someplace, my front end sounds like squeaky, well used motel bed (ie. control arms). maybe it's out there but I couldn't find it.
the list of common problems isn't very long for A4s....front control arms, outer tie rod ends, headlight/cruise control switch, sh!tty cupholders, bulbs in the instrument cluster, LCD in instrument cluster, that's about it i think
EDIT: boost leaks aren't uncommon for the 1.8Ts, especially modded ones like yours, but that's not really something you can prevent, unless you want to replace all your hoses before they fail

i just had to replace my inner and outer tie rods at 55,000 miles, and my rear view mirror went out something about the crystal matrix busting other than that nothing too major besides regular mainteinance.
Breather pipe & Breather assembly just broke on mine. Oil Sludge which is easily prevented by running 400ml through a 1.8t motor for 15 mionutes before draining & changing oil. Thats it for mine so far. . . . Oh yeah oil pressure switch too.
that's basically what i wanted to know, i just didn't know if there were more things that i should be watching for. so far i have done pass. side rear wheel bearing, ICM, both sets of upper cpntrol arms and tie rod end. thanks for the feedback
