Cool down ..
yup yup...the turbo timer is the way to go. I just set mine for thirty seconds....and it adjusts itself to how hard I was driving....somtimes only one min...sometimes up the three minutes.....nice...
ya mine is the same way i set it for 30 seconds and it will change depending on how i drive, its really neet and it save me time, plus i get a kick out of it when people tell me i left my car runing and i just walk by and smile
For those of you who let the car idle every single time... you're wasting your time. Driving the car lightly for the last few minutes of your drive is more than enough... if you're driving the snot out of it, sure, let it idle... but most of us don't come tearing into our driveways at 6000 RPM...
I have very rarely been in situations where I am driving the car hard, and then suddenly am stopped and ready to shut it off... I always have some light driving before I park it. If I found myself in such a unique situation (at a track, for example) then sure, I'd let it idle. But really, you're just burning gas.

yeah....and nowadays gas is worth its weight in gold......
you haven't ever seen how close you can come to your garage door at like forty miles an hour......what a loser...lol...jk......only reason I say that is a friend of mine plowed through his garage door trying it...lol

You're welcome
I think when people leave their cars to cool down, it makes them feel like they've got some uber performance car, that needs crazy taking care of. Our turbo is the size of a tennis ball... lol, even if it DOES go to **** a bit sooner than it might have (which it wont) then I'll replace it for 100 bucks off ebay. I'd sooner spend 100 dollars than leave my car burning gas for 1 - 2 minutes after EVERY drive. Jeebus.

"most of us dont come tearing into our driveway at 6000K RPM..."
HAHA! That seriously made me giggle.....
I like the feeling of accelerating and usually shift between 3 and 4K. Generally I'll be a bit nicer when I'm almost done with my drive but even then I wont sit there and let my car idle to cool down.
Its pretty important to let your car warm up though. I'm usually very light on the gas and shift under 3K while my car warms up. I'll start driving a bit harder and more "normally" when the engine is up to operating temp.

I guess its all preference. I drive upa mountain to get home, so im on boost the whole time. I can also garrentee you that my turbo will last longer then the guys that ae saying its stupid, ive poped my hood in the dark and saw my turbo glowing after normal driving. Again, its preference, do whatever u want.
