I have a 97 a4 q with a 2.8l does anyone know where the coolant temp sensor is located apparently you need to pull it out and match the connector color? if anyone can help. Thanks

 

If I'm not mistaken there are two. one is for the fan and the other is for the guage The one for the fan is on the rad. core left side.. I don't remember where the other one is thou.

 

YEA I THINK I NEED THE OTHER ONE I AM GETTING A CODE FOR IT AND THE BENTLY BOOK SAID BEHIND THE RIGHT HEAD BUT I CANT SEE IT

 

hey, um....the caps lock key is about 1/16 of an inch to the leftfrom the A key.

just a friendly reminder to not type full posts w/ the caps lock key on.

Should be behind the head green or blue color, sticking straight up from a coolant hose. It has an electrical plug on the other end.

Thanks for the help! I go the sensor out last night and put the new one in, cleared the codes and it seems ot be fine. however every now and then the car seems to stublel at idle and then stall out once in a while. I was thinking the idle control valve but wouldent that set a code? Any ideas? Thanks agin for your help
