Coolant Warning????
Coolant warning indicatercomes on for a few minutes after the car has been started then disappears. The coolant temp gauge stays within the normal operating range and I haven't noticed any puddles.
What are your thoughts? Does this sound like a potential leak or fan malfunction? Car goes to the dealer in 2000 miles for scheduled service. What should I check before panicking? I plan to check the coolant levels tonight after the car has sat for a while.
Have to take a road trip this weekend as well?
Not sure if it's relavent info, I have a 04 1.8t 6 spd with an APR Stage 1 plus.
Please help! Thanks!

it is most probably your coolant level and just add some coolant dude... nothing to panic... you cannot see your temp gauge show higher than normal unless you ahve a thermostat problem or you loose more than half of your coolant but when your coolant gets lower than min line a sensor gives you the warning and then goes out...
it could be a slight leak but what is happening is, when the car warms up to its normal operating temperature the water expands and flows into the overflow tank, where IIRC thats where the sensor is, so it shuts the sensor off.
Coolant level was low & once refilled the warning light went off and car has been fine. Just shocked that I may have a leak.
Any lines or areas of the engine to check for potential leak? Have not had any leak puddles and engine is pretty clean.

Hey just in case it comes on again, because my car was doing the same thing but with time it would just come right back on.. I just got mine back from the dealer yesterday with the same problem. Turned out to be the coolant sensor that is inside your resevoir tank. Just thought that might help you for the future.
