Cost to Fix Rock Chips
Hi all,
I recently got into a car accident and my B5 A4 2.8 was totalled. I got a fat cheque from the insurance company and I'm looking for a new A4.
I came across a 1.8T with a Giac chip, it's absolutely perfect except for some cosmetic damage on the front bumper.
The owner bought the car from BC, with the rock chips already on it. People have been telling me the cost to fix it would be around 1,500 because they'd
have to paint the whole bonnet and bumper, is this true?
The chips are all along the front grill, bumper, and some on the bonnet. What would be the cost to fix them?

Depends on where you have it done. If you're lucky you'll find one that'll do it for under $1000. Some shop (contracted by Audi/BMW/Merc) was asking 2300 to do the left rear door and quarterpanel after my accident. I found this really good shop that did the whole thing plus the other side rear quarterpanel for less than half the price. It sounds bad but I'm waiting till some douchebag sideswipes me again so I can paint my hood and bumper lol
paint jobs need to be done right or you will just end up wasting a ton of money. Might not be obvious for a year or a little more but you will start to see it peel or something if not done right. If it was me this would be one thing i wouldn't try to find the cheaper way out.
