Rock Chips
Hello everyone,
I own a 2010 a4 avant -- deep blue metallic paint that now looks as though it is going through puberty -- it is pock marked all along the front hood. I ordered the touch-up paint from the dealer where I bought the car (criswell in Annapolis, MD) but I have never tried to repair rock chips before and am terrified of making it worse. Has anyone here used these paints before? If so, what were your results? If I have never done it before, would it be better for me to have the dealership do it? Or can someone recommend a good detailer nearby? I know that these rock chips will only build up, but I would like to get them taken care of to at least avoid rust issues. Thanks guys! I know that this is the overprotective parent in me freaking out about the little things, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've never had much luck in touching up without leaving little globs of paint.
