Default couple of things...need help!

ok so i put in a manual boost controller in a couple of days ago, since then ive been trying to work with it, but it will not allow me to boost over my chipped boost level of 15 psi. it will only allow me to go down. i finally got fed up with it and took it off. i hooked my n75 back up but now im in limp mode...any reason why this would be? also is there a quick fix besides clearing the codes?

the reason it wouldnt let you over boost is because you probaly had it wrong

yes i had it hooked up right...but when i had it set at the minimal level it brought my boost back to stock. it was very weird so i gave up on figuring it out. and it was a turbo xs single stage boost controller

Yo I have absolutely no idea what the answer to this problem is but I just wanted to comment on how insanely awesome Jeffs intricate diagrahm of the setup of the MBC to the turbo is. The detail is just overwhelming.

It brought it back to stock because stock is the minimum amount of boost that your turbo can produce. YOu cant run a turbo with no boost(I don't know why people think that) the lowest you'll probably ever see aturbo be is 6.5lbs unless you turbo is the size of a Hotwheels tire. Also as far as going over the chip amount. This guy i know(he drives a GTI with the same engine 1.8T) was tellinme sumtin about how an MBC can only produce like 14lbs a boost on our engine, it was sumtin like that i wasn't really listin and i dont really know if he knew what he was talkin about but its a though.

ok your mostly right. the reason you cant bring a turbo to 0 psi is because the wg is set to open at 6.5psi. it wont open anylower unless you take it apart and mess with it but who wants to run low boost???, what the mbc will trick the wg to think its not getting any boost. but when you hit the boost you have your mbc to open at it pops open and shoots all that boost to the wg and the wg will then open preventing overboost. if you hook the mbc up right then you can get over 14psi. i ran mine at over 23psi and blew up the turbo. yes i was retarted and should of used the search function but that was a noob mistake and im lucky i did blow the motor becuase looking back at my dyno's i was very very scary lean[:@]
