cracked wiper fluid container
the other day my light went on regarding the windshield wiper fluid and when i checked there seems to be a small crack in it... not sure how. anyone ever had to replace that or any ideas on a way to patch it?
kind of random and i never actually use the fluid but i don't really want to see the windshield check light all the time.
thanks[sm=smiley22.gif]

RE: cracked wiper fluid container
Yup pretty common. There are 2 pumps that sit in the w/w resevoir. Its not the actual white resevoir that cracks, its the housings for the pumps. So you gotta take the drivers side wheel off, get torx bits and take all 11 or so screws out that hold the wheel liner in. Then disconnecte everything from the resevoir, and unbolt it from the frame and slide it out. Remove and inspect the 2 black pumps. Youll probably see at least one of them is cracked. I just put epoxy all around it, and then wrapped them up in electrical tape and reinserted them back into the resevoir, and voila. Been fine for over a year so far. Its more common on 00/01 models because the w/w resevoir was redesigned and repositioned. 96-99's dont seem to have this problem.
