Creaking Noise - Control Arm Problem???
Hey everybody!
went to the dealership yesterday morning to check out a creaking noise in my 2000 A4 1.8TQ front end. Since it was raining on my way there, the creaking noise was not evident and the rain may have lubed the bushings. My question is, if this was a control arm or tie rod end issue, wouldn't they be able to determine it right away?
I was told that there were front end components were tight and that there was no problem at that time. I mentioned greasing the components but they said there are no fittings to apply the grease and that they are sealed units that require replacement to solve the issue.
The lower control arm would cost $500 CDN installed.
Any thoughts????

If it is that ecsting sells a whole kit (control arms, heavy duty tierod ends) for about $600.
If when you turn your wheel and hear what sounds like 2 balloons being rubbed together than it is most likely your bushings.

thanks skid...
had the car looked at t'day and confirmed it was a tie rod end issue... creaking only happened over bumps and uneven road. g'na have them replaced in a few days. This forum is full of knowledgeable a4 owners who had the answers right away...

Yes I have problems,I hear terrible high-pitch squeaking noise from back(both left and right) exept when its raining,I`m not sure if it is control arms, and from front left I hear noise like two baloons rub,my car is a4 1.8tqm 1995. with eibach springs and stock shocks. Is there mayle kit for back arms too, cause I`m going to replace them both front and back?Car`s handling and performance are pretty good, only I hate that noise
