Creaking noise from drivers side front control arm
So I foolishly went to the dealership to diagnose a creaking noise in my front end on my 2001 A4. They said I needed a new strut on the drivers side!
I didn't think it was a strut so under futher invesitgation by myself, it appears to be from a linkage attached to a switch/sensor on the drivers' front lower control arm. What is this switch called? I tried searching in the forums with a few different keywords and wasn't having much luck finding a diagram
I was wondering if it was possible this had something to do with the HID headlight leveling? It is amazing that something this small could make as much noise as it does. I sprayed the joints with silicone spray and it helped somewhat.
Has anyone else had any issues similar to this?
Thanks in advance! I wasn't sure if this was more appropriate here or in the suspension forum.
