Default custom exhaust?

Hey i dont know alot, but im thinking about getting a remus muffler with 2.5 custom exhaust? Im not sure if thats good size

Whats the difference between a custom exhaust and just buying a exhaust?

Whats the difference between a bad custom job and a good one?
Just not sure,
Thanks

Gahhh, well, this is about the 3'rd time this week that I've seen this post...

Just use the search function, and type in "Remus Exhaust", or "Exhaust", you will find a lot of info...

hey du de. I recently bought a remus muffler for my car. It sounds awesome, growls when you want it to but doesn't drone like some other well-known s ystems that do and say they don't. 2.5 inch should be okay. I just have mufflers and it sou nds sweet. If your thinking abo ut some engine work down the line, then go with 2.5. Just keep in mind th at the sou nd will be a bit deeper. I was advised against custom exhaust because brands like remus, milltek, and eisenmann have all been tested specficially for you vehicle with backpressure. In my opinion, I'd save up a bit more and buy a namebrand system.

A good custom set up is going to have madrel bent piping while a cheap custom will be crush bent, its shitty for flow and isnt as good.......

yep...well said by badluck........mine is 3' mandrel bent from the cat to the muffler......which has a 3' inlet.......once I get the testpipe, it will be a true 3' turbo back....can't wait.....

PRIMO, what are your mods now and what do you have planned? That will decide what exhaust you need. And if you have a 1.8t, then, unlike what somebody said earlier, you don't need backpressure. Only na motors need it. For turbo cars, you want as little as possible.

Lol a bigger turbo, with stuff you will be around lets say 210 hp but thats at the crank not the wheels, if you figure a 10% loss your gunne be only puttin about 180 to the ground

yea im was meaning at the crank.
when i said "im aiming for 200-225hp" i meant thats what i ultimately want.
Im not even sure how much i would get out of a catback and chip and dv.

if there are any mods i should do before these mods let me know please.

and what should i do next?
