Custom Exhaust
Hey guys. Im trying to put in a performance exhaust on my A4 (1.8T B6) and im trying to save a little money. There is a local exhaust shop that said that they would take out the resonator muffler and replace it with thicker piping and new mufflers? The only thing is that the piping is crush bent. Does that make a difference? Does this sound like it would work well? And does anyone know what kind of mufflers are best for performance and sound? I want the best performance possible and the least 'ricey' sound that i can get. What should i use?
-Thanks,
Ryan

RE: Custom Exhaust
crush bent... blah, mandrel bends will greatly increase power and sound, i have a custom 2.25 stainless thru and ebay "dtm"muffler, straight all the way back w/ a high flow cat on my 80 quattro. it sounds mean, so hunt around on ebay for a muffler and see if u get a nice one, nicer means more expensive....on second thought, the crushbent might not be as bad as i have herd, idk jsut my $0.02

RE: Custom Exhaust
...less bank and more power, why do you want mufflers, have them do straight pipes from the bolt point back, they wont have to weld it on even (bolt point is located about where the drivers door ends). this would cost like $100 to $150 and it would sound somewhat like an srt4, doing this to mine as soon as the clutch problem gets straightened out at the dealer.
