all new PIONEERs except the 5700 have gyros which prevent you from watching DVD while driving. there is no way to get around it as it is tied in with the Nav. more companies are gonna follow suit/ some already have. Lawsuits will do that to ya.

 

i jus called my buddy who arranged my install. he said this is true, but can be easily by passed. said something bout hooking it up to the e-brake?

told me not to worry about it, i wont have that problem..

 

are you getting a Pioneer then or no?

i've never heard of anyone bypassing a new N1, N2 or D1 [Pioneer] type decks. e brake trick worked for last years models.

naw i have the kenwood deck i listed above DDX-8017. its got that sensor i was told, but my buddies are by-passing it. its indash and navi compatible. not sure why they wont let u use navi while ur drivin? wats the point of navigation if u have to pull over to let it navigate?

 

the NAV should and will work while driving, its only the DVD video that wont.

 

ahh makes sense. hmm hope the new kenwood isnt like the new alpine/pioneer
