Default The dealer can't work on my car, and doesn't know why.

I just got my car back from the dealer, (took it in cause it's in limp mode and I can't read the codes). Well seems that they can't communicate with the ecu either, and have no idea why. Anyone ever heard of this? and is my car totally f***ed? I know the turbo is bad so I have a k04 on order, but if that doesn't work I might have to burn the car.

Maybe you need a new ecu? Do you know anyone you can swap ecu with to test it?

Or is something wrong with the wiring for the OBDII connection? You'd think the dealer could figure something out.........

Unfortunitally I don't know anyone else with an A4. And I'm hoping it's the wiring to the connector port, although that leaves a whole bucket of problems aswell.

I know this sounds sketchy.. But if you cant get any local willing help, see if you can test drive an a4 for sale with same yr/engine code/tranny and swap the ecu's to see what happens. Its not difficult to remove the ecu, and its technicaly not being dishonest or anything... You might want to drop the knee pannel and look at the wiring to the OBD port first to make sure no wires came loose... Did the dealer try that?

I had a problem with my VAG after i installed a iPOD ICe unit into the car...

For some reason the CD Changer controller part was messing with the VAG..
