Default Differential Seals

I have a 98 A4 2.8 that has a slight leak comming from the rear differential. It seems to be comming from the right shaft. Could this be as simple as a seal? How much does it usualy cost to get the seals on both sides replaced? Any help would be greatly apreciated!

I was quoted $300 to fix my seal - needless to say it's leaking... Just top your diff fluid off every year and you'll be fine for a LONG time.

So you're sayingthat unless the fluid starts to pool on my driveway, I should be ok just topping it up? Was you're quote from a dealer?

No - that was from an independent shop. I would never go to the dealer...

Topping it off should be fine. Maybe changing it out yearly too...
