I've seen a lot of posts about the dipsticks breaking in B5 Audis. A shop told me that mine is broken, so I figure that I should probably fix it soon. ECS Tuning has a couple different parts though. I think all I need is ES#1501, but can somebody confirm this?

In case it helps, I took picture of the dipstick and the hole that it goes into.

 

Im not sure what that part is but all you need is the plastic tube. Part of it is still on the dipstick.

Theres two types. A short one and a long one. Not sure if thats the right one for you car but thats the type of part you need. You should be able to pull the part thats still on the dipstick off with some plyers or something. Is the round part towrds the metal side of the dipstick. You can see the seem where the top plastic part of the dipstick is.

 

Yup that is the one you need. That is the one I need for my 98.5. Getting it off was a bitch for me. I broke it off and some of the plastic pieces fell into the tube. I cried.

 

it just clips on you just have to pull like hell to get it off
