Default DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY.

Hi, I just wondered because my battery is 'on it's way out' is it safe to disconnect it and replace it with a new one? just i read somewhere doing this would reset certain settings within the cars electronics and compuers, thanks for your replies

Yeah it will reset the radio most likely. Make sure you have the "safe code". It is typically located in the owners manual. Also the car may run rough for a few hundred miles while the ECU readapts.

make sure you reset the TB, you just need to turn the key in the on position and leave it there for 3-4 mins

Youll need to reset power windows so the 1 push- auto down/up feature works again..

I notice that whenever I disconnect the battery on mine, I have to wait about 30 miles or so, before the 1 touch will start working again, but it comes back automatically "with a mind of it's own..."

You have to manually reset the B5's?
