DIY intake for the 2.8
I'm looking to get a bit more response out of my car, so I decided to go for a DIY intake...........maybe. I hear DIY intakes are just as good if not better than aftermarket intakes, is this true? Is it possible to do a DIY for the 2.8??(1999 quattro) I've only seen them for the 1.8t, but I'm guessing you should be able to do it for the 2.8 as well. Anyone have a write up on how to do it, or any info i could use?
Any help is appreciated, thanks

many have said that the stock audi airbox is better than any intake. intakes will just draw in hot air unless u get a heatshield. it will sound cool but i dont think u will see much for power increases. also i hear that u will burn through MAfs. i have an intake on my audi i really like it because it sounds cool under my hood. i also have a heatshield for it but i really didnt see an increase in power. i havent burned through any censors yet but i have only had it for a few months. i would give it a try, if ur going for the diy route just order one on ebay they sell kits with brackets, boots, tubes and filter for around 50 bucks.
