got my new k03 turbo and about to have it installed tomorow. do i need a gasket for it? dont wanna goto the mechanic and have the turbo but no gasket. thanks 98 a4 1.8t

 

It is a good idea to have a new one but if the old one isn't damaged or rusted it will be o.k.

 

Always a good idea to use a new one, spray it with some brakleen and clean it off...

yeah man your old one is sure to be real brittle and will probably just come off in peices. You need two gaskets and the nuts are one time use. Should really just get the install kit, then again you really should have gone with a k04.
If you have an audi or vw dealer close by i would stop by before taking your car in to get at least the gaskets. Itll probably save you some headaches down the road.
