I know I don't need that cover, but I just don't like the way dealer screwed me. I always bring the car tothe dealer for services because it is still under warranty. So if I don't have the cover (which according to the user manual I should have one), that means either the dealer stole it (or lost it) when they do the service or they took it away when I purchased the car.

It's just cosmetic. Doesn't serve any real purpose. By the way, my 03' 1.8t doesn't have one. If mine was supposed to come with one, I haven't missed it one bit.

 

 

My 3.0 02 has one, i took it off so many times i know for sure, its a trim peice it doesnt matter if its not there or not.
