Yo man , change that **** ASAP. Dont do what I did and wait and ended up screwing my whole engine head up. Just trust me . IT HAPPENED TO ME. DO IT OR BE SORRY

thanks for all of your input.
So, I had the clutch replaced. My mechanic showed me the old clutch. SOMEHOW ?? the pressure plate craked into 3 peices? Who knows. My mechanic said it could have been heat.
Additionally, there was a slow oil leak before (like 1/2 a qt every 3000 miles) Turns out that it was leaking on the timing belt. Either way, I had the timing belt done as well.
The check engine light was on, so the guy replaced my 02 sensor (ugh)

so, for a brand new clutch, new timing belt and all new gaskets, etc, the 02 sensor and labor it came to 2000 bucks! Ouch.
does that seem like a pretty fair price?
BTW, the new clutch is like a dream!!

yeh seems about right to me, dunno what some of the guys here that work at the shops think tho
