Default doing the labor on my own

Well, i went to get my a4 checked out, since i was pretty sure the wheel bearing was going, and the check engine light was on. I was right about both, it was the wheel bearing, and the O2 sensor for the check light. The prices the dealer gave me were of course jacked up, and I found the parts much cheaper elsewhere. What i need to know, is how hard is it to install the rear downstream o2 sensor, and the wheel bearing kit. My dad will be helping me and is a very experienced mechanic, not so much on foreign cars, but some things are just about the same as on domestic. Anyone have the mechanical cd's for our cars and can send me the page that i would be needing just for reference?

Thanks
Mike

Hi ferris, here's a link to replace the wheel bearings.

Make sure you pick up factory O2 sensors, I have heard a lot of problems with aftermarket or generic ones. Yes they are expensive, but they only needed reaplaced every 70k miles or so. You'll probably need a crows foot tool to remove the rear ones. Your dad will know.

Do not attempt to replace the wheel bearing without a press. On some cars you can get away without it, but on the A4 you won't get it right.
