Yep it is a common problem. I tried to paint mine when it happened, but it never really looked good. Best bet is to go buy replacements from Audi. Removal is a real pain in the butt. You'll see inside the door handle is a screw. You have to remove that and then remove the black plastic insert. From there you can remove a few more screws from behind. You'll also need to remove the door panel to gain access to the back side.

sigh.. even if i buy another one i have a fear of it peeling.. like its weird its like a odd coating to mee.. like its more of a sticker then paint.. it comes off in large pieces.. its like that white out you can buy the tape kind..
thanks alot for the quick reply.. i was sitting there after i took out 3 screws wondering why nothing was happening for me..
also is there a website that has the piece that i need?

If you decide to paint them be sure to remove all the old "paint" first and clean them with a wax and grease remover. The problem may have been caused becasue the parts were not cleaned properly before. Also, before painting them with your desired color, coat them with a plastic primer. This will ensure the best adheasion and they will not peel again.
