Default door sensor

hi, i have 2001 A4 2.8 model.
I have a little problem lately with the door on the driver side.
Everytime i close it, the door is closed completely. however, the sensor on the screen keep saying (and beeping) that it is open.
I will have to re-open and close several times, before the sensor/beeping go away.
Does anyone know what the problem is ? can it be fixed easily ?
Appreciate all your help very much.

Default RE: door sensor

by the way, when i use my 2nd key (you know how we have 2 sets of keys). it works fine all the time.
No need to re-open and close again. Anyone has any thoughts ? could it be my 1st key need to re-programmed, as i have dropped it a few times onto the floor/ground ? Guess the door sensor is fine after all.
Thanks for any advice or feedback.

It sounds more like coincidance that you dont ahve the problem with the other key. The door latch sensor is inside the door latch itself as mentioned above. The switch functions exactly the same no matter what key you use. Sounds like you need a new door latch.
