Default Driver Side Door Lock/Keyless Entry

Hi Guys,

I have a 1996 Audi A4 Quattro, recently somebody attempted to break into my car through the driver's side door lock. I had the lock and handle replaced. The locking system worked fine for the last couple of weeks, using the keyless entry. Yesterday, the keyless entry remote battery died and I realized that when I use the key to open the driver's side door (which was different than the Ignition and Passenger's side door key), it did not disengage the alarm system and the alarm went off. My question is: Is it possible to code the lock that was installed on the driver's side door to the rest of the system so that when I use the key to unlock the driver's side door it disengages the alarm. Also, could I reprogram the remote for the keyless entry using the new lock. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Nick

Im not sure if this applies to you but,

I think it says in the manual to reprogram it, you hit the unluck button and unlock the car with the key. This will program it to the key.

Hit Unlock,
Unlock Door Manually with Key
Get in!

Sorry if this isnt what your were exactly looking for...
