Default Driverside Mirror problem

I am not even sure what to call this but my DSM has just started to change colors. It seems that someone hit it as there are two semi-circular compressions where the problem started. It started just after I had my upper tie rod ends and wheels and tires replaced by my local mechanic. I called asn asked if there was anyway he hit it with a wrench but he said no.
Well it need to be fixed. It is losing its dimming.

Does anyone have experience with this or know what is required to fix this problem?

gonna have to replace the whole mirror i'm afraid. it's pretty easy to do, but autodimming ones can be expensive. Check ecstuning.com for prices.

I had to get my drivers side mirror replaced, cost me like $180 or something along those lines. I'm sure I can dig up the receipts if you need the exact price.

you mean even the mirror housing? I thought lltek had replacement for just the mirror itself... I think lltek's was glass, too.

Mine are auto dimming, and my drivers side mirror is all screwed up... has condensation in it (foggy) and is very bronze coloured -- well, about half of it is

yeah i was told that the "bronze stuff" is the heating fluid that's inside the mirrors and if the mirror adjustor **** is left in the middle (at the white notch, not on either L or R) then it starts to leak, which ruins the mirror...sh!tty design

LOL why would leaving the selector in the middle cause this? That is crazy. All that does is select which mirror to move.

yeah that's what i thought too, so i just left it in the middle where it wouldn't do anything but my mechanic said that that turns on the heater, or somethin along those lines...
