Default Driving hard vs babying

so the question is...is it better to push the car a bit....or driving it like u have a dozen eggs on the dash??....some people say the engine is made to take the pounding...& some say that u should baby it to avoid repairs...what do u guys think?

Is it better to hit your foot with a hammer or soak them in a nice warm bath? Common sense goes a long way believe it or not.

I guess somewhere in between pushing it & babying it would be good.....there are days I push the car..then days I take it easy

That's a funny question.

I don't think ripping around town is the best idea (duh), but babying it doesn't necessarily do good things...my last car's injectors clogged and the dealership basically told me it's because I drove it like a grandma.

now on this subject....is it ok to cruise when the rpms are below 2 grand...like say 6th driving around 70km or aprox 40mph??

I think there is a happy median between what gear, rpm and speed, you shouldnt really need us to figure it out for you. Although if your coming for a stop, its better to go into neutral then downshift, pads are cheaper then synchros, axles, etc...
