Bikes=Beat the **** outta properly RPMs don't do damage, retardation does
Cars=Beat occasionally, but don't drive overly gently or you will have problems.

I don't care what anyone says, theres a proper way to "beat" on a car and the ricer way to beat on a car.
Rember its worse to be at 1500 RPM in 5th tryin to go up a hill with a loaded car then 3rd at 2500 RPM goin up that same hill. Lugging damges the engine.

I say do both, Drive it hard push it, make it work, and then baby it with some nice frequent oil changes, clean it up, replace bushings and give it new belts and such... basically make it happy because it makes you happy.

Yeah - you can drive spiritedly, as long as you don't beat the sh*t out of the car, and you should be fine as long as you keep up the proper maintenance.

always better to take it easy, the more you rev your car the more wear and tear on the engine, obviously having a little fun isnt bad but do it in moderation when you really need it.

Just rip it!!! LOL, I rip it at times and the last 10 minutes of the ride I baby it, and take it slow. I am a pretty heavy foot inspired driver and there isnt a day that I dont reach speeds of or over 160km/h, 100mph... but this doesent mean I drive like that 24/7 open roads I release the beast and in a bit of traffic I never follow and when I am first than I take it easier... Who cares man its a car most people use it to get from point A to point B, I use it for the same purpose but I get there faster and have way more fun than the "grandma drivers". Its a car, a nice car in my opinion not very many people can afford an audi here, and any car you get doesent matter you are still going to drive it the way you drive. IMO its the driver habbits that get in the way of you deciding how to drive your car. Iget about 350-400km's per3/4 of the tank I never let the cargo below that because I dont want it stressing the pump, I also change the oil every 7500km's or 5000miles, so halfway point, treat it well and it will treat you well. The reason there is a chip out there for our cars is because they were built to give more power, and were limited with a chip so they last longer. Which is really good strategy IMO, so if you chipp it than take it a bit easier!!!

i would agree there is a way to drive it spirted then a way to just rag it like kid does....

i drive mine hard and have 75k, not a problem one.. my father has an 16 1.8t in greece that he beats to death, never lets it cool down or warm up and he has 250,000k no problems....

just use common sense... dont be drag racing... these arent designed for that....... i commute in mine and regularly do so at high speed... but thats what its designed for...

imo let it warm up - beat the crap out of it (of course to ur driving ability).... let it cool down.... do maintain it and ull be fine. lately i havent been driving mine as much (school) and when i do, i drive it like i stole it... i take really good care of it... i change the oil around 3k 3.5k and everything is fine.... i also have 147k and the major problem i had with the car so far was the clutch which is normal to go out at like 130k. honestly how can u drive it slow... when i sit in mine i feel like its beggin me to go faster and faster....and go sideways (bad for the tires but w/e) i cant wait to make more money for more serious mods.

A daily driver will destroy a garage queen anyday. When I had a 98 Trans Am LS1 I beat the hell out of the car and the car actually got faster I swear and I have dragtimes to prove it and I did no modifications. I raced everyone and anyone who wanted some even if it was a POS civic with a bodykit the car as a result ran like a race car it was in race mode everytime I drove it. The car never broke down once, I dont know if its the same for all cars or maybe I was just blessed with a "factory freak" because I was beating cars the same as mine by many car lengths it was not my driving skill because the car was an automatic. But who knows how these things happen.

I enjoy the sound of the diverter valve everytime I lay off the gas.
