So I was reading through old post about intakes because I think I am going to get acarbonio. Anyway whats with all these people talking about getting k&n and some cheap intake off of ebay or the same with intercoolers. Or even worse going to homedepot and crafting some junk up. It just seems like something that someone who drive a honda would do. I thought that becausewe wereaudi/vw owners wedidnt do that andit set us apart from everyone else. I guess I was wrong.
A lot of the guys on this site are younger , college or high school age, with out too deep of pockets. So, a lot of us DIY most repairs, and sometimes upgrades if they can be done right and tastefully.
Myself, I am older and well established, But I still DIY everything because I am cheap and would rather keep food on the table for my 4 kids. I would have no problem building an intercooler for 200 instead of paying a grand for one.
So, if you have the jack, go ahead and get a carbino, I think they look nice, not much functionality there.
I would much rather diy my t-belt (which I did) than pay you 1000 to do it.
Its all about what you can afford, and making the car better, and having fun while doing it.

I am a college student and can't afford to purchase these worthless intakes that only give you a louder sound. I mean if you want a louder sound, just pull the mafs out of the airbox and throw a filter on it, it will be the exact same, only about 300 dollars cheaper. I mean, I could have spent 400 dollars on a new exhaust manifold for the t3t4, but instead I built one that is just as good for 150 dollars. You are a very conceded person, in thinking that you are better than everyone else just because you drive an audi. You give everyone else that drives one a bad name. Thank you theguy1084.

HUH...i never said I was beter than anyone so just calm down...I like how everyone is automatically hating on me because I can afford nice things. I stilldo s#$% myself there are just things I choose not to. Like an intake just because I want things to look clean and I like the way the carbonio is set up. We are really arguing opinion here and I am guessing its going to be a never ending battle

Sp did you order the carbino?

I guess the meat of this thread is that not everything on ebay is junk. Look at the short shifters. Best $40 I've spent on my car.

Get some pics of the carbino when it's in.

What now your just making stuff up...I bought my car becaue I have a passion for the brand just like some buys an old mustang or something..because they love old cars. If I was going for class or status I would have got a bmw or a benz..I love the Audi because its low key yet it is still a good car
