Default ECU chips for A4

New to forum - I own an A4 1.8T quattro for a couple of years (bought new 2005)and love everything about the car except low end performace - can anyone recommend the APR Stage I ECU upgrade chip? Is it worth it to spring for the Stage I+ (extra $600 for injectors)? Any advice appreciated.

With APR Stage 1 you will definitely notice a difference. You should like low end now more than top end since the turbo is so small it trails off higher in the rpm's.

You may be talking about the turbo-lag, which a chip will not help. You're just going to have to deal with that.

if your state doesn't check for emissions, get a test pipe, i remember reading that the turbo spooled alot faster with the test pipe in. Correct me if im wrong

APR1 is fine. Don't go the extra money for the injectors.

Just curious as to why you'd say 'no' to the injectors?
