ecu computer re-install
i took out my ecu today, the silver box near the driver's side door in the engine compartment, i took some compressed air and tried best i could to clean the contacts, thinking it was the source of my turbo problem.
I reinstalled the connectetions in the right slots and put the beast back in, but when i started it up it was idoling really rough at like 4hunderd-7hundred rpm's
did i damage anything? or is it just a matter of letting the computer reset itself, how do i do this in the proper way?
Unlikely you did any damage, but your car needs a throttle body adjustment. You can either search to how this is done in the archives. Alternatively, the car should adjust after driving for a while.
my buddy got a new ecu in his car (not an audi) and his throttle body was adjusted to rev higher too. only on start up it idled like how urs is. i think its just the ecu reconfiguring itself to ur car, it should go away after 2-3 days, let it idle for a few mins before u start driving too, u mite see the revs going up and down, thats the ecu adjusting itself. give it a few days and see how it goes
