Slow down here - aren't you talking about a "tip chip" from GIAC for your transmisson?

thats under the passenger side carpet - just pull the front kick pannel out - pull up on the middle secition of the door molding - pull up the carpet and open the box that it is in

Oh i totally miss-read your post you want to get a TIP CHIP? Yeah thats in the TCM (transmission control module) which is under the carpet on the passenger's side. You would have to take out the door sill trim and peel back the carpet to gain access to the TCM.

thanks guys. i went back thru the forums and emailed a co in ny the onepoint8tee used. i'll see what they say. just pisses me off that a year ago both chips were $800 and i'm looking @ $1150 for both installed. and thanks for clearing my hearing error. i swear he told me the ecu.

edit-so, if its in the passenger compartment, i can expose it, drive over, pull it out, have them do their thing, then i pop it back in, drive home, and put my interior back?
