Anyone help me with the correct way to swap ecu?

Disconnect the battery, remove the cover and pull the ecu.

Install the new one and do a Throttle body alignment.

Not sure why you include battery disconnect. I never disconnect. AWE doesn't
.

If you disconnect battery, make sure you have the radio code.

I have always been tought to disconnect applied power before doing anything of this nature.

What will happen if you dont wait 3 min before tring to start?

You mean waiting 3 minutes with the key in the ignition? the car may idle rough because the throttle body hasnt adapted.
