Default electrical issue...

i recently replaced my head unit, all was working well. until today when i pulled it out to run the navigation to the parking break on the head unit, upon finishing and assembling it all i plug it in, start up the car and get no power to the radio. so i check the fuse box and the radio fuse is getting no constant, any feedback or suggestions/answers to this would be great since i am 100% lost atm

Did you accidently pullout or cut a wire? If your fuse isn't getting power, then there is either abreak somewhere or you wired something up incorrectly.

Try undoing what you did and see if the radio works. Process of elimination.......IDK.

When you say you check all the fuses, does that include the one on the radio as well?Maybe youhave the 12v and accessory wires backwards? I dunno, just tossing out ideas here.

dont think the fuse on the radio would make a diffrence, if the constant fuse found in the fuse box isnt getting power. i could be wrong though

im not sure about the 04 but check under the hood there is usally another fuse box under the hood on my 01 they are in with the ecu. also when checking fuses it is easyest to pull each fuse out at a time and look at it this works better then using a muti meter and doing coninity test on the fuses

A lot of people I come in contact with say they checked all the fuses when all they really did was look at them while they were still plugged in, they don't use a meter or test light. Most newer cars have multiple fuse blocks and sometimes a fuse in one allows power to go to another. Especially in a case where you are talking about a constant 12v source, it would not make it's way to the inside of the car directly from the battery unless it was fused (either a fuse, circuit breaker, or fuseable link) near the battery, under the hood of the car.

If you have a friend that installs and he can't figure this out then your friend needs to find a new profession... this is a very easy fix, really common sense stuff.

i did pull every fuse out to check them

and also we did use a meter, as said i pulled every one. as far as a second fuse box is what i was thinking but nothing was found under the hood, as why i am posting here hoping someone would know where to find it.
