hey all, as my first post on these forums, I figured I'd pose my first problem with my audi. I got it about a month ago and have been lovin it. However, today i had my first real problem. I was driving around just fine, but when I got home and stopped the car, i pulled the key out and the radio was still playing. when i stepped out of the car, the car was dinging like the key was still in the ignition. i thought it was weird, but when i was driving to the supermarket later is when the weird stuff started happening. i think the car stalled when i was driving down the road going about 35 but then started up again. my electronics were dead, turn signals wern't working but it was still driving. I got to the safeway and stopped the car. bad idea. i came back out and it wouldn't start. so that's where i am right now, car won't start, the ignition feels really squishy, and some stuff still works, lights, sunroof, etc. any ideas? jump start doesn't work

Your ignition is screwed... Quite possible your car has been stolen before. Loose wires will freak the cars electrics out. As for the engine cut out & restart, it sounds like you had a "forced engine start" it was either start or lock up. It wont be too much of a problem to get a new ignition... I dont think. LOL take it too a shop to get CHECKED not repaired and then let us know.

 

hmmm, great. Thanks for the reply, I guessed it might be something with the ignition. I'll report back when my shop takes a look at it.
