Engine chugs, jumps, dies
I've got a 99 A4 1.8 standard transmission. I'm a do-it-yourselfer 90% of the time. My problem is this:
While driving, the engine starts chugging, almost jumping (not in and out of gear) driving horribly, and dies out. I've been able to get it restarted in order to chug it the rest of the way home. The first time this happened I put new spark plugs in it and it ran for less than 100 miles and had the problem again. The spark plugs I had removed were saturated in gas. It idles really rough and dies most of the time.
Any troubleshooting help would be great, I'd really like to keep it going for a while longer as it is cold up here in Alaska working on it outside.
Thanks,
Don
