Engine difference between FWD B5 and B5 quattro?
Hi Guys
I have recently bought myself a 99 A4 B5 FWD and i know that theses have 110kw and the quattro model has 134kw. My question is what makes this power difference between the two models? and is there any other differences between these engines?
Cheers!

the engines are the same, but what they put too the wheels is diffrent. quattro needs to disperce its power too 4 wheels while front track only have to goo to two. basicly thats it.
Frontrak (Audi's Front-Wheel-Drive)and quattro (Audi's All-Wheel-Drive)are not engine-specific; however, as oneg said, the AWD setup willexhibit a slightly greater loss of power between the crank and the ground. Since you're speaking in kilowatts, I'm guessing you're not in the US, so I can't speak to the engine/drivetrain configurationoptions available in your location. However I can tell you that an A4 rated at 110 kilowatts probably has a different engine than an A4 rated at 134 kilowatts. The power difference you're describing has nothing to do with the drivetrain (FWD vs. AWD).
