Engine Stuttering on Hard Acceleration. Please help!!
I have a 2006 A4 2.0t with the S-Line package, automatic transmission, just bought it a little while ago and noticed that when I'm driving along everything is fine, but when I push the pedal down and it drops a gear to accelerate faster it almost always stutters pretty violently as I keep pushing the pedal down trying to accelerate. I've read some posts on a similar issue others were having and all I could find as a solution is changing the coil packs but I just recently got them replaced via the Audi Recall so it can't be that for mine because it's still doing it.
The car runs fine other than that but I can barely accelerate aggressively at all without it doing this so takes the fun out of it a bit. Could there be any thing else that would cause this? And only once when I kept accelerating and it kept stuttering did the check engine light come on, since then I don't do it.
Please help! Thanks in advance to everyone. If you have any questions I'll be quick to reply.

Similar issue
I recently developed the same problem with my 2007 75K miles. Originally I thought it would be coil pack or the fact that my car was overdue for spark plugs. Plugged in my vagcom but there were no DTC for misfires, much to my surprise as I was assuming a problem with the coil packs and to find codes. Clearly either the engine is misfiring, or there is a problem with the tiptronic. Car idles fine and drives fine for cruising. I changed the spark plugs anyway as they were due. The old plugs looked fine and there was no change in the problem with the new plugs installed.
However when I hit the gas and the car downshifts something misses. I put the tip into manual mode and the same thing happens without a downshift. So far I'm stumped, but I'm beginning to lean toward a transmission issue.
With regards to your specific problem. find someone with a vagcom and see what DTC codes are stored and post them back for help

Same issue!
Hi,
Just wondering if you have figured out what was wrong... My 2006 A4 2.0T quattro is having the same issue and my Audi mechanic can't figure it out. My engine stutters on hard acceleration and my check engine light will flash on. It sucks to drive on the highway. Otherwise my car is just fine. My spark plugs and coil pack were replaced this August with the 55k maintenance, so they weren't the problem. My mechanic told me everything was a little "carboned up", so I have been using fuel additive, but the problem persists. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
