Default EVO MS Intake Installation

Very Easy to install, direct fit replacment. be sure the MAF sensor section is installed the proper way. The brass holes should be towards the rear of the car. Also, the screen on the section with the MAF sensor shoud be facing aft. Total job took about 20 minutes--thanks be to DaGimp for the Tech Support. The power increased a small amount, but was a bit let down by the sound it now makes. You cant really tell that much difference with it. The spooling is a bit louder, but no PPFFFTTSSH from the DV like I was hoping. The tone of the intake changed very little as well. Not as much burp as I expected. But overall am pleased with it for its power increase and the sound of the turbo spool! Sounds like a small jet turbine. Would recommend to anyone who is looking at intakes.

Sorry, forgot to add-it is chipped. Like I said, I can hear it spool, just no relief sound. Not a bigie anyways, I like the little bit 'o power it adds.

cool, mind if i ask where you got it? how much louder is the intake from stock, is it a constant noise or just when you spool it up? im trying to get away from my days of making noise all the time. (better re think my exhaust lol)

do you have the stock DV or 710N. I remember when i had mine with the stock DV it didn't make that sound but i got a forge 007 Dv and it sounds awsome now.

Well I bought it from DaGimp on here, but it is an EVO Motorsports intake. www.evoms.com It's only a slight increase in volume with the spooling. Not really much throatier fromwhat I can tell though. On a scale of differenct, 10 being drastic, I give it a 2-3. Power though, I would give it a 7-8, but it's all subjectinve of course.

I hear Baileys DV is best in terms of that PSSSSTTTTTT sound, can anyone second this opinion?

cool thank, i was afraid of the constant noise, but you cleared that up for me, ill put it on the list for my car, probibly after i get chipped and n75 and 710N, and exhaust, so its down the list a bit. hey do you have an upgraded DV? i mean are you using stock or at least a 710N? from what i hear if your not your def should if your chipped, as the stock 710 DVs arn't really good for increased boost.

So should I get a new DV then? I was thinking...hmmm....if the stock ones are known to fail and be a little fragile with their material, maybe is is faling if i cant hear anything coming through. I am contemplating on getting a new DV, but it is about 100 bucks if I do. Is it worth the money? Can anyone give any advice? Remember, I am chipped, with the EVO MS intake, and have the stock DV. 1.8t Quattro. I need to post a pic of two on here of my car. It looks pretty good with the lowering it has and the tint. Good silver paint and a mesh grill with mesh lowers too.
