Exhaust Question
the stock 12v exhaust is about as efficient as it can get...any modifications you do are only going to be for sound and bigger pipes will cause a power loss...don't remove the mid muffler (resonator), it will sound like ***. i did and i was embarassed to drive my car..i got it put back in two day later...just get a magnaflow muffler, that will get you a deeper sound but not too loud...and no cats aren't worth it either.
yea you'll lose back pressure and lose a lot of low end power, which the 12v is already pretty lacking in, so its best to leave the stock pipes on...you can get a much better sound out of an aftermarket muffler though, thats what i did and i love it...get a CAI (a good one with a huge heat shield), or modify your stock airbox for better flow and throw in a k&n..the CAI with the high flow muffler will give you some gains + a really nice sound
you can get a better throttle body for cheaper from a guy on audiworld that used to do a ton of custom parts for the 12v..his name is Mance...i forget his aw username but here's his email...ask him what he has for the 12v, he's always making new stuff and a lot of the stuff he has is pretty cheap too. excellent quality too.
