Default Extended Warranty for 2004 A4 1.8T Quattro

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum here...I am trying to finalize the purchase of an extended warranty for my 04 A41.8T Quattro...Does anyone know the types of repairs that this car needs after 50K miles? I've heard that the electronic repairs are horrendous and all types of repairs that involve rubber parts...So, not sure what to do, I also need to research other sites with stats on the repairs for this car after 50K miles. The dealer says a 'bumper to bumper' extended warranty is needed for this car b/c the repairs will be "out the roof"!

Please help if you can!

Thank you!

Is it an extended audi warranty? I.E. a pre-owned audi from an audi dealer?

If so, I would say get it. Unless you can turn a wrench pretty good. A lot of us here do our own repairs, so we would go without, but it can get real expensive real fast if the dealership is working on it.

It all depends on how well the car was taken care of up until this point, there are some common things, but if you can afford the extended warranty, its probably worth it for you. What kind of price / cost of warranty are you talking about?

Thanks for responding!

I am the original owner of the 04' A4 1.8T Qttro and my factory runs out in about 4 weeks, so I am looking into an 'extended warranty'...The main thing is- the warranties for my type of A4 are pricey and I'm wondering if its worth it. Looking at 4 yr/100K warranty that is around $2,700...But, don't think its worth it. A basic ext. warr. to cover the engine and transmission is about $1,200. I wouldn't have any repairs done at the dealer- rip off! But, I have a private independent shop I'll go to. Anyway, the major problems I've heard from the Dealer and from warranty Co. is electrical/computer probs and probs involving rubber components.

Thanks again for your advice!

I have the same year/make as you, and just bought it a year ago as a Certified Used Vehicle from an Audi dealer. I just turned 35,000 miles, and am due for service in 43 days, according to the car's computer. My dealer told me that having the extended warranty is a plus, but not to get it if you have fairly low mileage and didn't have an extended warranty already. My plan also covers the 55K, 65K, and 75K services. I was told it covers all costs, but I'm prepared to discover hidden costs or deductables when the times come: we'll see.

I will say that over the last year, I have had ZERO problems with my car. None. Knock on wood! I put Premiem fuel in the tank always.

I love my B6.
