Default Extremely frustrated.. please help

Hey guys,

I have been having a persistent problem with ignition coils. After consolidating my vehicle history, I noticed I had ignition coil work done on 7/22/08 for what I considered to be "Engine Sputtering". Two days ago, on 2/4/10 I again had the same issue and was told by a different mechanic that it was yet again, ignition coils.

I proceeded to have them replaced per his suggestion and consequently also found out these parts were subject to a recall.

My two questions..

1) Would Audi possibly be on the hook for both sets? If for instance, upon replacement in 07, the new coils were also those that were later included in the recall.

2) Is it NORMAL for coils to go out in 1.5 years? Quite a costly repair..

Thank you!

Try www.audiusa.com/coils for reimbursement-related questions. I am dealing with a similar issue. I received a form from Audi to submit for reimbursements - must be postmarked by Feb 28th!! Good luck
