Fan staying on

The fan on my A4 2l TDI 62plate stays on when ignition is turned off. This happens every couple of months and even when the car has only been driven less than a mile. The air con is turned off. I understand that this is a known fault, can anybody help or advise? Thanks

This is perfectly normal nothing wrong with your car. Part of the DPF regeneration process. Fans runs for a very long time to get all the hot air out of the engine bay to protect plastics components.
