Default A few questions for the experts

Hey I just joined the forum and will be purchasing an audi relatively soon. I know a decent amount about cars especially audis and vdubs so I don't think I'll be asking any noob questions.

Okay so I plan on buying a turbocharged whip for sure, so my options are a 2003-04 1.8t a4, or a 2001-02 biturbo 2.7 s4. I'm just wondering from someone who has driven either one of these rides, or both of them which do they recommend? I know the a4 has tons of performance parts which is a plus, but its only got about 170hp I believe. As for the s4 I hear not many performance parts as the a4 and will cost a few thousand$ more, but the biturbo with 250hp sounds sick. So I'm left with undecision and would like to hear your opinions. I plan on spending 15 to 20 gs for the new ride so I might have to go with the a4 considering the s4's with under 75k miles are usually 20grand+.

Also what are you guys getting for max hp on either the a4 or the s4? How much hp is the a4 capable of with small modifications? Thanks your advice is appreciated.

dude, there are plenty of mods for the S4 and you can run more power out of that engine before you blow it i think, ive seen people with more than 500hp in those things,

Hey thanks for the info I would rather have the S4 but it seems like it might be out of my price range. So instead of the S4 I'm thinking about a 2003-04 a4 3.0 or the 1.8t, what are your thoughts on the 3.0 instead of the 1.8t? I want to have one of the fastest cars in my area and I dunno if the 1.8t will cut it. The 3.0 puts out a decent amount of stock HP so I'm thinking I should go with that instead. What do you guys think on the 1.8t vs the 3.0? Thanks,

Max

You definitely want the 1.8T

It responds way better to mods, and with a big turbo kit, you can push some serious HP.

The 3.0 is fine is you want reliability, and aren't palnning to do mods to it.

Yeah I definitely want to mod the he77 out of it so I'll probably end up buying a nice 1.8t. What are you guys gettin with a modded 1.8t for HP? Is it possible to get 300+ HP out of the 1.8t without completely rebuilding the engine?

As for the 3.0 with the turbonator, has anyone tried this on their 3.0? or any car for that matter? Does it work well, Thanks if you want let me know what you guys are getting for HP with a modded 1.8t or a 3.0.

ok first he was ******* with you about the turbonator on the 3.0 they are BS and done do **** for your car but there was a guy here a while ago that claimed 300 hp with a turbonator alone and he was dead serious lol, as for the 1.8 getting to 300hp is about 3400 its not hard at all and you dont have to do anything to the long block of the car its just a bigger turbo set up
